Seven Hills Dragons Tae Kwon Do Club

Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art which loosely translated is "the way of the foot and fist"; tae means "feet"; kwon means "fist"; and do means "path" or "way".
In general Tae Kwon Do emphasizes kicks and punches thrown from a mobile stance, using the leg's greater reach and power to disable the opponent from a distance.
Although there are great differences among tae kwon do organizations, tae kwon do training generally includes a system of blocks, punches, and open-handed strikes, as well as, various take-downs, sweeps, throws, and joint locks. Moreover, traditional styles of tae kwon do emphasizes self-defense, while the more modern styles stress tournament sparring.
We at the Seven Hills Dragons TKD Club focus on the more traditional style of tae kwon do emphasizing within a two hour workout: self-defense, Forms (Hyungs), One-step sparring, Breaking and Sparring. The goal of the two hours is to condition the body as well the mind. In general we believe that in order to be a skilled martial artist all you need is a good instructor, enough floor space and good attitude.
